WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Low-Carbon Generation Operations Leader** based out of our **Houston, TX** office. We will also consider the following location: **Atlanta, GA.** Be a key leader within WSP USA’s Energy team which is a top-ranked ENR firm within the Power sector.
WSP USA has an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in and expand WSP's Energy engineering team in the US market. This is an operational role responsible for team recruitment engagement, growth, customer engagement and performance with market sector focus on power generation opportunities which have a long-term vision for decarbonization via future application of hydrogen and carbon capture.
In this role, you will collaborate with existing teams within WSP to build out an Owners Engineer capability to complement WSP’s detailed engineering capability which was added as a result of our recent POWER Engineers acquisition.
Your Impact
+ Clients
+ Partner with WSP Market Segment Leaders (e.g., Power Generation, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Electrification, Power-to-X, & DER (Distributed Energy Resources), Renewables and Energy Storage, Power Delivery, Environmental), participating in strategy formation and business development.
+ Represent WSP as the “face of the company” locally and across the US (when necessary) with clients, industry, and within WSP.
+ Bring an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end markets.
+ Utilize our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the US and globally to foster new and innovative client delivery.
+ Assume Project Management and/or Technical Lead responsibility for key projects.
+ People & Culture
+ Actively recruit an expert team to support our clients objectives to develop new gas generation assets with a future path to decarbonization.

+ Collaborate with leadership to strategically drive the business, assess, and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Revenue, Sales, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, Cash Flow, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles.
+ Develop growth forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with Team Leads and Leadership.
+ Resolve any conflicts and other internal/external issues that may arise related to team, client base, or project performance.
+ Expertise
+ Because the focus of this role is on low and zero-carbon power generation opportunities with secondary attention to hydrogen and carbon capture associated with the Energy Transition, the ideal candidate for this role brings a strong background in energy infrastructure ideally with expertise in power generation facility design, project delivery, and process engineering.
+ Leverage WSP’s broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings.
+ Foster the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.
+ Advance the strategic direction of the region for sustained and continued growth consistent with the strategic plan.
+ Encourage, support, and promote the technical and professional development of local WSP staff.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum of 15 years of experience with a college degree or equivalent experience in the engineering consulting industry with a strong focus/background in the energy and power generation value chain or equivalent.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related discipline.
+ Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and delivery, including active involvement in rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
+ Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts.
+ Sound decision-making, strategic, and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice.
+ Travel is required depending on clients and/or sector activities.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
+ Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
