Summary

At Precision Solutions, we are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install cat(x) wire, access control systems, fiber optic cabling, and other low voltage items. This role also involves performing fiber optic splicing, testing, analysis, and repair on both new and active fiber optic networks. The technician will also assist with network construction activities before installation and splicing.

 

Responsibilities

Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings, and cut sheets to determine tasks and sequence of workInstall and trim low voltage wiring, including cat5/6, access control systems, and speaker setupsPerform loose tube splicing to industry standards and customer specificationsConduct testing using power meters, OTDRs, and other industry-standard equipmentConstruct industry-standard splice enclosures, ensuring proper grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealingSafely enter, maintain, and exit splice enclosuresPerform splicing in indoor and outdoor environments, ensuring all work meets customer specificationsConduct physical construction work such as digging holes, working in vaults, placing, and laying cable and conduitEnsure all tasks consider the safety of all involved parties

Requirements

2+ years of experience with low voltage wiringMust be reliable and able to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent reading skills to comprehend construction warning signs and work ordersStrong attention to detail and safety practicesAbility to work in high-stress environments and extreme weather conditionsMust be able to lift heavy objects, walk, stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time, often in adverse field conditionsAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
