Job Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse shall perform services in the provision of supportive or restorative care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Minimum Requirements: Graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Current LPN license with North Carolina State Board of Nursing *The “Essential” and “Non-Essential” functions of the job are listed due to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The breakout of these different functions will not impact the Wage and Salary Program. Participation in continuing education programs as required by hospital and NC State Board of Nursing. Must have a good basic knowledge of nursing principles and practices. Possess the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff and all others using proper channels of communication. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit(s). The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to collect data reflective of the patient's status and to provide the care needed relative to the patient’s age-specific needs as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures. Maintain current BLS certification.
