ChristianaCare is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medication Refill Team at the Avenue North Contact Center in Wilmington, DE.
In this role you will be part of a team of 15 Licensed Practical Nurses to support our primary care practices with processing prescription refills. Each nurse is assigned 2 practices to cover, and this rotates monthly.
**This is not a patient facing position and requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Also requires being comfortable with using computers to process prescription refills. Each nurse is responsible for answering some patient phone calls and otherwise retrieving orders from the pharmacy as well as the ChristianaCare patient portal.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibility will be to assist with prescription refill requests and processing.
Receives incoming telephone prescription requests with occasional e-mail and fax communication from patients.
Adapts communication style to persons representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Uses excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information.
Utilizes the computer database to educate and document all information in an accurate manner.
Refers calls requiring a provider’s response as medically necessary.
Screens and responds to patient phone calls, directing to Clinicians as needed.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
Adheres to policies/safety practices established by CCHS
Meets minimum established quality and productivity standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
2 years’ experience as an LPN.
Special Requirements:
Current LPN State licensure in DE.
CPR certification.
