ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Triage when needed Reconcile medications, which also includes double checking patient responses and knowing when the last time that patient was in clinic and refilled meds. Discernment is needed Send medications to pharmacies Check message pool and nurse line daily (when message/float nurse is out). Your provider’s messages take first priority then help the other nurses if they are busy or someone else is out. Put your assigned provider’s next day labs in. (If you are going to be out alert management team so the float or another nurse will be assigned your duties) Next Day Schedules: This is done at the end of clinic. (med list, last body composition, new pt labs) Handle walk in patients that need questions answered or a weight taken Do your assigned provider’s referrals: Fill out document, Fax, and Scan Meet once a week with your assigned clerk to go over scheduling questions or errors Must adhere to scope of LPN practice as outlined by the MS Board of Nursing, regulatory standards and hospital policy Must comply with any other duties that are assigned by the clinic management team

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current LPN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing
Previous computer experience required
Must be able to read, write, understand written and verbal communications
WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office environment. Multi-task oriented position including direct patient care may require sitting or standing for long periods. Some bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lb. Must interact with providers, patients and other office personnel. Must possess socio-economic and cultural sensitivity. May involve contact with angry, upset or ill persons. Will involve potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and other hazardous substances. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to assist with procedures, perform and interpret lab results, and interface with computer. Must have auditory acuity to handle phone calls and extensive patient interaction.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is an hourly position with schedule to be determined by the clinic coordinator/ manager/director.
