Job SummaryJoin the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. The Hematology and Oncology department is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute, which is known for continuous clinical trials and cancer research to ensure our patients have access to the newest advances in cancer treatment.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide top-quality patient care to diverse populations of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. An LPN in this role is familiar with performing patient care activities, documenting patient care, administering medication, observing patients’ health, and maintaining/restocking medical equipment and supplies. To be eligible for this position, you must have a current Ohio license as an LPM M-IV or an LPN Meds certification as well a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities:
Performs patient care for patients of all ages and documents patient care as per policy and guidelines.Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.Provides education and information to patients and family members.Provides minor maintenance and restocking of equipment.Maintains professional growth and development within nursing field.Participates in quality initiative and process.Participates in the departmental orientation of new employees in a positive manner, shares knowledge, experiences, and provides guidance when assigned.Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times.Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.Follows Code Blue protocol as per Clinic Policy.Other duties as assigned.Education:
Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing.Certifications:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
