Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state LPN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional requirements include:
Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 90 days after hire dateOne (1) year experience in acute hospital setting preferredSuccessfully complete Phlebotomy Training within 90 days of hire date.Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.Completion of Team Nursing Education course.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actionLanguage Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Department/Unit Summary
12 Bed Unit1:6 Patient Ratio10–12-day LOSPatients receive therapy daily, participate in activities and communal mealsTherapy staff has a large presence on this unit as well and works collaboratively with nursing.Option to work every 6th weekend, no mandatory overtime (three shifts per week only)Extremely flexible scheduling optionsProvider coverage on unit to provide nursing support 24/7Admissions and discharges are planned well in advance, so it is much less turnover for patients than an inpatient setting
