CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed critical access hospital, a 28-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and a newly remodeled Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments.

Since opening in 1952, CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison has been dedicated to serving the residents of Garrison and the surrounding rural communities.

Garrison Memorial Hospital is equipped with 4 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed program, and acute care services. Responsibilities

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  Works under the supervision of the registered Nurse/Director of Nursing.  The Licensed practical Nurse will function as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team under the direction of the Registered Nurse.  Functions according to State Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Policies & Procedure and the Mission and Philosophy of the Facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather preliminary patient informationRecord vital signsPerform injectionsCare for and dress woundsProvide help for daily careMonitor a variety of health care equipmentMonitor medication charts ensuring patients get the correct dosageFeed incapacitated patients that aren’t able to feed themselvesMaintain and monitor IVsPrep the patient for proceduresInform patients of how to take care of themselves after the hospital stay
Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.

Licensure: Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of ND or in a compact state.  Graduate Practical Nurse (G.P.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid.

Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required.
