PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Responsible for providing direct patient care, ongoing education, and reinforcement of care plans, and providing general support in a pediatric office setting under the direction or supervision of the patient’s clinician in accordance with policy, procedure, and competency to promote patient health and wellness. This position requires providing services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cares for babies, toddlers, children, and teenagers Records a patient’s medical history, symptoms, and vital signs. Assessing a child’s needs and providing initial care. Updates patient charts and electronic health records (EHR). Identifying changes in children’s symptoms and intervening in emergency situations. Preforms medical tasks including draw blood and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines. Observes and monitors patients’ symptoms and vital signs. Administers medication and other clinician-recommend treatment plans. Deal with the anxieties and demands of parents and help families deal with their child’s wellbeing, illness or injury. Follows all federal, state and local nursing regulations, standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing or practical nursing education required alongside corresponding licensing
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a medical facility preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
An active nursing license in New York State is required. Must be a registered nurse (RN).

Patient-facing Indoor office work environment Some occasional travel may be required. During business hours
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time. Ability to wear PPE as required. Lift and carry approximately 15 lbs. Intact senses relevant to the role
