Watertown Regional Medical Center is NOW HIRING for a LPN at our Clinic location.

This is a full-time (32hour) day shift position supporting our clinic.

Summary\:

Assists physician(s) or mid-level provider(s) in patient care, exhibiting decision making skills for moderately complex issues and a basic understanding of pharmacology. Provides quality patient care, both in the office and over the telephone, as directed by Physician, Non-Physician Practitioner or Practice Management. Performs clerical and general office duties based on knowledge of medical practice procedures and policies.

General Responsibilities\:

Duties may include, but are not limited to\:

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider.Triages moderately complex patient calls and issues.Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, etc.), and records information on patients' charts.Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.Administers injections, immunizations, and allergy shots.Performs EKGs and other tests according to office protocol. Performs routine clerical functions, e.g., answering phones, taking off messages, retrieving charts, completing forms, scheduling appointments, etc.After discussing with provider, calls patients to discuss care.Notifying patients of lab results.Assists provider in minor procedures.Prepare soiled instruments and perform sterilization processes as required.Maintains charts and files in an organized and efficient manner.Obtains prior authorizations for medications, as needed. Schedules patients (if applicable).

High School Diploma/GED – RequiredCompletion of a Licensed Practical Nurse Program – RequiredCurrent license to practice professional nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin,RequiredPhysician Practice Experience – PreferredUnderstanding of Medical Terminology/ Anatomy – RequiredAbility to perform basic tests related to practice specialty – RequiredBLS certification within 30 days of hire. Computer Literacy – Preferred; with the ability to demonstrate required computer skills before the end of the initial employment period. Working knowledge of CPT-4; HCPC’s; and ICD-9 coding principles, Preferred.
