Position Summary:

As a part of our team, you will be providing care for patients which may include the following duties:

· Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.

· Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN or following standing orders.

· Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering, ear lavage, EKG’s, and bladder scans.

· Ensuring all the components are of the standard rooming process are completed including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.

· Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures, and standards.

Schedule: 36 hours/ 3 full days, 2 half days a week with the opportunity to pick up occasional Saturday mornings. 

Clinic Hours: 

Monday to Thursday: 8am-7pm Friday: 7am-5pm Some Saturdays: 8am-12pm

Department Overview:
Our Pediatric department provides a range of services from well-child care to day-of acute visits. We care for children with complex medical and psychosocial problems, as well as acute and chronic childhood illnesses. We also provide developmental, behavioral, and nutritional assessments and guidance, along with parent education.

Role Overview:

This role involves working alongside LPNs, medical assistants, triage RNs, and reception staff to deliver quality patient care to approximately 150 patients each day.

As a part of our team, you will be providing care for patients which may include the following duties:

Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure, hearing and vision. Preparing and administering medications and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN, or following standing orders. Performing and assisting with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering ear lavage, nebulizer treatments, circumcisions, mole removals and wart treatments. Ensuring all components of the standard rooming process are completed, including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, and completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality. Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Qualifications:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

 

            OR

 

Medical Assistant (MA): Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

 

            OR

 

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Must meet one of the following: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License

 

Preferred Qualifications:

One or more years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
