**Overview** The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care to chronic and stabilized patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse; participates in each phase of the nursing process and may provide supervision to nurse aides; adheres to the performance standards established for this position. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson. CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities. **Responsibilities** + Interviews patients and records their medical history + Obtains and documents patient vital signs; reports abnormal findings promptly + Administers and documents administration of treatments and medications within scope of practice; may administer oral, topical, and suppository medications; administer injections, infusions, and blood transfusions; start IVs + Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately + Observes and records patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments + Serves as a liaison between physician and patient; shares information and reinforces education and instructions provided by the care provider + Participates in admission and discharge process + Performs and documents comprehensive patient assessments + Reviews and updates plan of care where applicable **Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience** + Completion of an accredited LPN program + 1 year of experience preferred **Required Licensure and Certifications** + LPN:ND; + BLS-CPR **Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training** + Candidate must be proficient with computers and computer applications in the healthcare setting. + Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English. + IV Certification (1 year) **Pay Range** $20.71 - $28.48 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
