Position Overview: A professional care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, providing care through the continued utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members. The LPN will be responsible for meeting the standards required by JCAHO, GMC and other regulating agencies for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment on the unit. The LPN will process information on the Center's Health Information System as required in performing job responsibilities. Identifies learning needs in collaboration with health care team members and reinforces appropriate measures to meet patient needs. Accountable for overall medical record completeness and accuracy. Documents in a timely, accurate, and concise manner reflecting proper use of terminology and abbreviations. Functions with an awareness and appreciation of safety/infection control policies as identified with the institution by using universal precautions and proper body mechanics. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses. Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing appropriate to practice setting. Participates in educational conferences, completes educational in services and updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to areas of practice. Currently licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Up to date on CPR and CEU's for practice profession.
