GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

Works in a team environment to efficiently promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness.  Provides education and resources to patients and/or family based on identified needs within scope of practice.  Supports efficient clinic flow and communicates accurately and positively with team members.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Colleague must have an LPN license as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date. Those colleagues hired before January 1, 2020 must provide licensure or proof of application in process in their secondary state by August 28, 2020.  Individuals hired in this role after January 1, 2020, must provide licensure or proof of application in their secondary state by August 28, 2020 or within six months of hire, whichever date is later.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.

Provides skilled technical nursing care under the direction of a provider, or RN.

Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs.

Renders nursing care to patients in an ambulatory care setting.

Assists provider with diagnostic/therapeutic procedures in a safe, clean, competent manner/ environment.

Maintains a clean, safe, well-stocked nursing area, including patient examination rooms.

Maintains a complete, accurate and legible patient medical record.

Attends continuing education to maintain clinical ladder.

Provides clinical triage/communication as defined by protocol or per provider instructions following in-service and demonstrated competency.

Assumes responsibility for actions in clinical procedures in accordance with ability and training.

Maintains a working knowledge of business office protocol/procedures.

Assists with patient assessment in coordination with a licensed provider.

Assists provider with examinations and treatments.

Administers oral, rectal, subcutaneous, intramuscular and Z-Track medications. Allergens administered only under the direction of a provider.

Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards.

Aids in identifying methods of improving patient care.

Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the provider or RN.

Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing aseptic techniques and other regulatory mandates (i.e., OSHA, CLIA).

Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization (i.e., HIPPA).

Routes billing information as appropriate.
