LPN - Treatment Nurse
Position Summary: LPN - Treatment Nurse is responsible for monitoring and treating wounds such as skin tears, stasis ulcers, decubitus ulcers, surgical incisions and rashes per the facility protocol unless doctor specifies otherwise. The LPN - Treatment Nurse will be responsible for keeping notes up to date, will perform pressure risk assessments on all residents. Interventions may be initiated, based on their score and the individual needs of the resident. The LPN - Treatment Nurse will measure wounds weekly and submit and review the wound report at the QA meetings, will be responsible for making rounds with the surgeon and to contact the surgeon with a list of residents with wounds of concern. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Holds a current North Carolina license as a practical nurse. Trained in the standards of DFS, Federal Medicare Regulations # Medicaid Regulations for long term care. Must be able to work under the direction of an RN; follow written or verbal instruction effectively; calculate# # administer medications according to Brantwood Nursing Center policies # procedures; monitor effectively the care of the patient # do audits to assure adequate care is administered by CNA#s and other LPN#s under the direct supervision of an RN. Participates in educational conferences, completes educational in-services # updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to areas of practice.
