Proven experience in a show production role or equivalent.Must possess high level of technical proficiency and knowledge of playing the instrument you are hired to play.Must be able to work in conjunction with the Luau Stage Manager, Luau Artistic Director, F&B Luau Managers, and Luau staff.Must be able to interact with fellow co-workers, manager/supervisors, guests and others with respect and honesty.Must be able to work cohesively with fellow co-workers and managers/supervisors as part of a team.Must attend all scheduled rehearsals, training, and hotel required meetings.Must have a positive attitude.Must be able to read and write in the English language.Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of management, employees, guest and others in an attentive friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.Must be able to approach all encounters with management, employees, guest and others in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by management, employees, guests, and others.Must have excellent decision-making skills and be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.Must be detail oriented and able to perform job functions with accuracy.Must be able to multitask and prioritize duties and functions according to the Luau Show’s needs to meet deadlines.Must be available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the Luau Show including evenings, weekends and holidays.Must be flexible and able to adjust to changes nightly according to the needs of the Luau Show. Must comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Must comply with all departmental and company policies.Must be able to maintain confidential information.Must perform other duties as direct/assigned by managers/supervisors.

Must maintain a nice, kind, warm and friendly demeanor, and be an Ambassador of Aloha Spirit at all times.Must show up to work on time, at the start of your scheduled shift ready to work, fully dressed in accordance to the Highgate Hotel standards.Must have the ability to follow directions and take critiques and adjust as necessary.Must be self-motivated and able to learn quickly.Must be able to work with minimal supervision.Must maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the Luau Show.Must maintain personal hygiene, appearance and grooming according to the Highgate standards,Must perform other duties as directed/assigned by supervisor/management.

At least 2-years’ experience in playing the instrument you are hired to play.At least 2-years' experience in a Luau show production or equivalent. Previous guest service experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian/Polynesian culture, songs and dances.

 

Physical requirements:

 

Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, reach and bend frequently.Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, and body motions.Light to Medium work – Lifting up to 20 to 50 pounds of equipment occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

 

Responsibilities

These duties include but are not limited to the following:

 

Must work closely with the Luau Stage Manager, Luau Artistic Director, F&B Luau Manager, and all Luau staff.Must attend and participate in all scheduled rehearsals and trainings for the show as required.Must attend all pre-shift and post shift meetings.Must perform all assigned pre-shift and post shift duties.Responsible to learn and perform all of the components of the music for each performance in the Luau Show.Must be a master of the instrument that you are hired to play.Must be able to support and assist in playing other instruments in the Tahitian and Samoan segments in the Luau Show.Must be flexible to learning other techniques to perform the music for each song and dance performed in the Luau Show.Must have the ability to identify technical problems and be able to resolve any issues asap. Responsible to ensure all instruments are kept in good condition.Responsible to report any problems or issues to the Luau Stage Manager that requires his/her attention as they arise.Must ensure compliance with all local and liquor laws and health and sanitation regulations.Must be in compliance with the Hotel rules and regulations.Must attend and participate in all department and company required meetings/training.Must provide excellent guest experience for overall guest satisfaction.Must perform other duties as directed by supervisor/management.
