Boise Cascade is looking for a Lumber Sales Manager to manage the sales activities for Lumber, Landscape Timbers, and Core Sales from plywood mills. 

Responsibilities: 

Manages and develops sales representatives responsible for approximately 100-120 MMbf of production per year. Responsible for the sales of commodity lumber out of Boise cascade’s Kettle Falls Lumber complex. Responsible for the sales of plywood residuals (landscape timbers and cores) from eight plywood mills. Develops short-term and long-term goals for the department. Involved in the problem-solving process. Develop scheduling tools, learns and uses PowerBI or other applications to make data-based decisions and monitor performance. Some travel related to mill visits, customer visits and attending trade shows. Works with the mills to develop accurate forecasting models. Reviews pricing and volume to be sold into the market. Communicates with the mills on cutting schedules, product mix, order files, market trends and production opportunities. Monitors transportation rates to determine how competitive Boise is in the market. Meet with transportation personnel internally and externally. Responsible for administration, investigation, including onsite inspections, and settlement of product performances and/or customer complaints relating to lumber and plywood products. Provides employee support, coaching, and training to achieve department objectives and Boise Cascade’s values.

 

Qualifications: 

College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in related job functions, experience and desire to lead a team are a plus.
