Responsibilities

The Transplant Center and Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona seeks two highly qualified, experienced transplant pulmonologists to join the initiation of our lung transplant program.  Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. The ideal candidates have interest/expertise in clinical practice for Lung Transplant patients as well as Advanced Lung diseases.

The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team as we launch our program.  Research engagement is highly encouraged including participation in clinical trials, utilization of artificial intelligence or big data, equitable care, and regenerative medicine.  There are unique opportunities to grow clinical medicine utilizing the Mayo Clinic Model of Care and practice in one of the largest solid organ transplant programs nationwide as well as participate in innovation at Mayo Clinic.  

Program details:

Mayo Clinic is excited to expand its Transplant Center by launching a Lung Transplant Program in Arizona, with transplant evaluations beginning in Summer 2024 with the first transplant anticipated in Fall 2024. It will complement the well-established kidney, pancreas, liver, and heart transplant programs. With state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technology, and a wealth of experience, Mayo Clinic is well-positioned to uphold its tradition of excellence in solid organ transplantation.

Mayo Clinic in Arizona performs over 800 solid organ transplants annually. The Transplant Center is known for its innovative approach to patient care, pioneering transplant research, and post-graduate education opportunities. A team of specialists in medical and surgical disciplines, including nursing, psychology, social work, respiratory/physical/occupational therapy, pharmacy, and nutrition, supports the transplant programs.
