LV Equipment Fitter

We are currently seeking a Light Vehicle Equipment Fitter at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) – Coppabella Mine.  Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with an extension of an additional pit at Moorvale South, adding to our coal production.

 

About the role:

As a Light Vehicle Equipment Fitter, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the maintenance team by providing a high level of Maintenance to the Light Vehicle and Auxiliary Fleet. Reporting to the Maintenance Light Vehicle Supervisor, you’ll deliver a safety focussed and high-quality service to Peabody’s Light Vehicles and Auxiliary mining equipment (lighting plants, pumps, generators), helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (including risk management, SOP’s, permits, work instructions etc.). Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment. Minimise production downtime Participate in and complete shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard. Actively engage in the in the Continuous Improvement Program Ensure maintenance strategies are implemented Provide input in forecasting for planned work

 

The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 7/7 roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Camp accommodation is provided. Employees residing locally may be eligible for the Living Away From Home or Accommodation Assistance allowance, depending on circumstances.

 

About you:

A proactive approach to safety and quality in the workplace. Mechanical/Electrical Fitter or Motor Mechanic Trade Strong working knowledge of SAP, maintenance principles and procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated experience in safety systems and processes
