Field Service Manager
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.The work model for the role is remote #LI-RemoteThis role is contributing to the Motion Service division in {insert region}. Main stakeholders are {insert main stakeholder groups if available}.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tWorking with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.•\tPerforming field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.•\tPreparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.•\tActing as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.Our team dynamicsYou will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the roleAssociate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program and 5 years of experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, experience with LV Drives, knowledge of: power electronics, motors, transformers, switchgear, and computer network communication protocol and theory of operation preferred.Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.Maintain a valid driver’s license.Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions; performs work related travel; and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit; use hands to manipulate and control tools, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and taste or smell.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
