Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Consistent with scope of licensure parameters of the California LVN Nurse Practice Act and Mercy Medical Center (MMC) policy and procedure renders nursing care to assigned patient populations under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Collects data that allows the Registered Nurse to assess patients for nursing needs and establish and implement a problem oriented plan of nursing care.Implements the plan of nursing care performs technical nursing procedures and provides direct nursing care. Patient age populations served and the specific competencies that comprise this job title may vary among nursing units. These specifics are found in the Department / Unit Orientation & Initial Assessment of Competency checklists for this unit/position and -by reference - form a part of this job description.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license with the State of CaliforniaMust possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificateMust possess a current IV Therapy certificate 

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
