Under general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of health center activity which includes;

Prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, venipuncture, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests and patient education.Responsible for specific appointments requiring independent judgment. Performs other related duties as assigned.This position requires initiative, ability to prioritize critical demands in real time, and the flexibility to work independently and in a team environment.Patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.You will educate patients and families and document patient interactions.Practicing infection control and contributing to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within own scope of practice.

RequiredQualifications:

Current California LVN licenseAmerican Heart Association BLS for Health Care ProviderMust be able to speak, read, write, and follow instructions in English.Excellent interpersonal skills.Proven LVN experience in primary care; skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height and weight; administering medication including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens.Requires knowledge in medical terminology, online scheduling, electronic medical record, universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.Thorough knowledge of the normal range of values for vital signs and of basic lab and infection control procedures; standard items used to stock exam rooms.Demonstrated knowledge of the patient flow process to efficiently monitor appointments, patients and available providers.General knowledge of pharmaceuticals and able to process PARs.Proven ability to serve as a resource and effectively lead and mentor staff.Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, integrity, accountability and innovation.This position requires demonstrated capability to provide exceptional customer service, helping with inquires, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
