Salary: $24 - $38 / per hour
The Novice Nurse Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (< 12 months of experience) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with care developed for each individual patient in accordance with physician’s orders when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted servicesDemonstrates on each assignment the provision of skilled nursing care rendered in accordance with prescribed ordersIdentifies and documents changes in patient’s both physiologic and psychosocial conditionNotifies Director/Supervisor if applicable on the following; \t\to Physician notification to obtain necessary orders for intervention(s) per state regulations\t\to Changes in patient/client condition
Adheres to Maxim's policies and procedures and applicable protocolsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient/client care requirementsAssures patient safety at all times and recipient of services providedVerifies that documentation reflects patient/client collaboration, participation in plan of care, expected patient/client outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsPerforms interventions, treatments, and medication administration, according to identified priorities, plan of care, facility policies and patient/client care outcome standards as applicable.Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medicationsEvaluates patient/client and provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient/client environmentMonitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautionsParticipates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communicationsCommunicates observations and significant changes in patient/client status to the Director of Clinical Services and/or Clinical Supervisor /Case Manager or licensed designeeDocuments all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record andcommunicates this information as neededAttends case conferences, team meetings, education in-services as requiredSupports professional practice by observing the following;\t\to Nurse Practice Act
\t\to Standards of Nursing Practice
\t\to Standards of Patient Care
\t\to Standards of Accrediting Body (ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)
\t\to State and Local Laws
\t\to Patient Bill of Rights

\t\to Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:Graduate of an accredited school of nursingLicense Required3.0 GPA preferredComplies with accepted professional standards and practiceCurrent CPRPPD or chest X ray if applicableSuccessful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Program orientation and trainingProficiency in the English language requiredExcellent communication skillsTechnological proficiency, including mobile devices for documentation
