Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a LPN/LVN Novice Nurse (< 12 months of experience). The Novice Nurse Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with care developed for each individual patient in accordance with physician’s orders when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted servicesDemonstrates on each assignment the provision of skilled nursing care rendered in accordance with prescribed ordersIdentifies and documents changes in patient’s both physiologic and psycho-social conditionNotifies Director/Supervisor if applicable on the following;Physician notification to obtain necessary orders for intervention(s) per state regulationsChanges in patient/client conditionAdheres to Maxim's policies and procedures and applicable protocolsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient/client care requirementsAssures patient safety at all times and recipient of services providedVerifies that documentation reflects patient/client collaboration, participation in plan of care, expected patient/client outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsPerforms interventions, treatments, and medication administration, according to identified priorities, plan of care, facility policies and patient/client care outcome standards as applicable.Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medicationsEvaluates patient/client and provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient/client environmentMonitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautionsParticipates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communicationsCommunicates observations and significant changes in patient/client status to the Director ofClinical Services and/or Clinical Supervisor /Case Manager or licensed designeeDocuments all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as neededAttends case conferences, team meetings, education in-services as requiredSupports professional practice by observing the following;Nurse Practice ActStandards of Nursing PracticeStandards of Patient CareStandards of Accrediting Body (ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)State and Local LawsPatient Bill of RightsMaxim Healthcare, Nursing, and Client’s Hospital PoliciesPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursingLicense RequiredA minimum GPA requirement is expected. Authorization from Area or Regional clinical leadership should be considered when hiring an applicant who does not meet a 3.0 GPA thresholdComplies with accepted professional standards and practiceCurrent resume including clinical hours and rotationsTwo letters of reference where possible.
