Position Summary

Technology M&A Financial Operations Lead, Sr. Manager

In FY25, the Deloitte US Firms are poised to engage in strategic and meaningful increases in our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) portfolio. As the Financial Operations Lead on the Technology M&A team, you will manage stakeholder relationships, oversee Technology activities for each acquisition and divestiture, and provide transparency to executive teams. You will develop and deliver multiple strategic M&A initiatives sponsored by Deloitte Leadership, Corporate Development, and the Technology M&A Leadership team.

The Technology M&A team is an internal Technology group that partners with Corporate Development, Deloitte Businesses (i.e., Audit, Advisory, Consulting, Tax, and GPS), Enabling Areas, and other Technology teams to complete acquisition integration and divestiture activities. The Financial Operations Lead will be in the Office of COO. The Office of the COO is the engine of the Technology organization, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and fiscally-sound technology operation. This multi-disciplinary team runs IT as a business by transforming IT finance, reporting project portfolio metrics, quality, deployment, delivery, and adoption, and building the IT workforce of the future.

Work you’ll do 

You’ll be working with PMDs and senior leadership across the Firm to support acquisition integration and divestiture activities. You will help identify and execute strategic M&A initiatives that continue our Firm’s success as the #1 Professional Services Firm. As part of your responsibilities, you will enact leading practices to improve M&A financial processes, enhance related systems, and align Technology M&A processes to continually improve. This role is sponsored by the Deloitte CIO and works on high visibility projects necessary for our Firm’s ability to achieve its long-term goals. 

Specifically, as the Financial Operations Leader, you will lead multiple Technology-specific M&A engagements within the context of the broader Firm’s M&A effort, responsible for cultivating, developing, and maintaining strong M&A working relationships both within and outside of Technology. You will develop financial business cases, plans, forecasts and present Technology’s integration financial performance metrics to senior stakeholders, oversee the implementation of key integration recommendations, and foster long-term trusted advisor relationships with various counterparts across the Firm. 

The ideal candidate will be curious, analytical, and confident, with a natural drive to excel. Candidate will have a genuine passion for transformation and M&A, with a proven success record at strong relationship-building, executive presence, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and proactive communication.

Responsibilities include:

Develop financial model/plan and oversee the execution of fit-for-purpose M&A and management projects; detail efforts to accelerate ROI of initiatives; and collaborate with senior and/or executive level program and technical teams to complete Technology M&A integration plans Develop and foster PMD relationships necessary to drive organizational buy-in and momentum for change Work closely with subject matter experts and executive stakeholders to develop and drive consistent key Technology M&A messaging and financial reporting Ownership of budgeting, annual, planning, forecasting for M&A activities; must understand the Technology M&A financial drivers and make recommendations to executive leaders and stakeholders on how to manage one-time and recurring costs Manage and continually improve quantitative and qualitative M&A assessments, such as stakeholder analysis and change impact assessments for key M&A groups; implement data-driven change strategies Reimagine and deploy M&A project reporting to program leadership and stakeholders; work with leadership to escalate and resolve risks and issues

Qualifications Required:

10+ years of relevant experience with Finance, Technology, M&A, Transformation, and/or Strategy Consulting; 5+ years of recent experience leading enterprise-wide technology projects and programs Strong hands-on experience working with financial and/or accounting process skills (e.g., Business Case Development, Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting, etc.) Recent demonstrated experience working closely with executive and C-Suite stakeholders creating recurring and frequent presentations . With the demonstrated ability to work with, influence, and negotiate with senior PMD leaders Minimum of 2 years of leadership and management experience internally or client-facing with a top-tier professional services firm Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve Bachelors Degree in Technology, Finance, or comparable field of study

Preferred:

Specific M&A-related experience (M&A, divestitures, joint ventures (JVs), and minority investments); reviewing targeted deals, due diligence and market reviews, valuation and appraisal, business case (creation, validation, life cycle tracking), entity integration assessments Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations Empowered self-starter comfortable taking lead and managing multiple initiatives with an ability to effectively collaborate across teams Excellent written and oral communication skills, Proven success at recruiting, mentoring, and leading teams that are focused on exceptional client service and can manage risk remotely/virtually Maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion Expert in Microsoft Office applications Prior experience in or working for Executive Leaders and their respective offices/leadership teams Prior experience in Finance, Corporate Development, Risk, Technology, and/or Office of General Counsel Prior experience with IT Financial management methodologies and disciplines and/or asset management Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to logically structure issues and determine recommended resolutions Detail-oriented with ability to plan, prioritize, and make decisions on multiple time-sensitive projects Strong commitment to integrity and confidentiality; due to the nature of work, NDAs may be required

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,000 to $208,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
