About the job
As M&A lead, you’ll be responsible for executing M&A transactions that drive our strategic vision forward. Working closely with a cross-functional team of stakeholders, you’ll lead discussions with target leadership, negotiate key terms, coordinate due diligence, identify sources of risk, and drive deals to a timely closing. You’ll be a part of the Office of Public Readiness and Corporate Planning and will be key in preparing SAS for potential IPO. You bring a deep familiarity with the M&A process, strong financial modeling and valuation skills, and the ability to work fluidly across multiple high-priority initiatives.
Location: Preferance to Cary, NC Headquarters or East Coast United States
As a M&A Lead you will:
Work with Product Management, R&D, and other teams to develop M&A priorities based on corporate strategy, product vision / objectives and roadmapIdentify, scope and lead explorations of market sectors that align to SAS’ strategic objectivesAdvise on and assist in development of SAS’ corporate strategy, especially with regards to identifying how strategy can be accelerated through acquisitions.Develop and maintain an extensive network of industry contacts, venture capital investors and financial advisors to assist in understanding market and industry trends and building transaction opportunitiesSpearhead the end-to-end, cross-functional deal process, from initial diligence to closing, including business case building, financial analysis, valuation and transaction structuring, and executive presentationsAssist with development of integration plans and support post-closing integration execution as neededRequired Qualifications
BA or BS undergraduate degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related field. MBA preferred.15 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or management consulting.5+ years working in software industry, preferably in a field related to analytics.Proven track record in buy-side M&A, corporate strategy, and strategic financeHands-on deal leadership experienceSelf-starter with flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust near-term role to business needsStrong leadership and program management skills with the ability to work and build consensus with multiple cross-functional teamsEffective communication skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate messages to senior leadership and external partners / counterpartiesProven ability to interface, influence and manage at all levels of organizationAbility to deal with time pressureStrong financial modeling and valuation skillsStrict attention to detailWillingness to travel, approx. 10%You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable.
