Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Engineer to support construction projects on-site in Sparks, Nevada. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements. The M&E Project Engineer acts as a liaison between the Client, M&E Project Manager, and Subcontractors, ensuring smooth execution from project initiation to closeout.
Key Responsibilities: Interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and phasing plans to ensure accurate project execution. Facilitate problem-solving between M&E subcontractors to address construction challenges. Validate design issues related to M&E systems and assist in developing alternative solutions. Maintain and update as-built drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor and direct M&E subcontractors, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Oversee procurement and monitor material deliveries to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing. Assist in testing and commissioning of M&E equipment. Develop subcontractor scope of work and ensure clear delineation of responsibilities. Maintain comprehensive project documentation in both hard and soft copy formats. Ensure subcontracts are executed, insurance is in place, and vendor payments are approved per contract terms. Assist in developing and managing the job progress schedule, ensuring construction aligns with project timelines. Oversee and validate change order requests from subcontractors and self-perform teams. Manage the closeout matrix and rolling completion log, compiling final operation and maintenance manuals. Assist in other duties as assigned to support overall project success. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of MEP construction procedures, project plans, prints, and schematics. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to interpret complex mechanical and electrical systems and develop practical solutions. Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record per Fortis policy. Physical Requirements: Work is performed on an active construction site. Requires standing or walking for long periods of time. Occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 50 lbs. Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
