Job Summary
The Team Leader leads a team of colleagues and supports the operational relationship between team members and customers. This role ensures team coaching, recruitment, inductions, ongoing training and development and appropriate and timely staffing of projects.
The Team Leader shows awareness of the customer perspective and creates a productive, positive, collaborative, supportive and motivating working environment, and works with the team to ensure outstanding quality and customer satisfaction standards are achieved.
Responsibilities
Ensure projects are delivered with maximum and accurate revenue with effort compensated by valueEnsure that Meetings Systems are kept fully updatedSupports the management in monitoring the overall cost-effectiveness of the teamAssigns meeting requests and projects to the team in order to achieve objectivesApproves team expenses and ensure all costs are charged back to the client projectsEnsure Meetings Systems are fully updated and correct and that meetings are reconciled, billed and closed within the SLAs.Roll out and ensure full adoption of new technology, initiatives and processes for both client and GBTWork together with Business Development, Global and Regional Account Managers where applicableLeads customer retention and account expansionLeads with customer account reviews if requiredHas solid knowledge of customer portfolio as well as the individual agreements, expectations, SLAs, policies, compliance regulations and KPIs.Encourages the performance of team members. Provides regular feedback: Balances recognition with constructive criticism and relates this to work performance and behaviour; acts proactively where improvements in work performance are requiredHolds regular team and 1:1 meetings, providing coaching as requiredSupport interviewing and Onboard new team members and integrate into working teamsEncourages, supports and coaches team members to develop their own approaches to solving problems, and to implement these approaches with the aim of exceeding customer expectationsBalance operational portfolio with team leadershipQualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Strong experience in the meetings industryKnowledge of meeting sourcing and planning as required by account portfolioStrong ability to interact and engage client contacts at a meeting level and key contact levelStrong commitment to developing and delivering customer focused serviceExcellent communication and presentation skills, persuasive skills, decisivenessSolid leadership and coaching skillsExperience in personnel selection/holding recruitment interviewsAbility to support change processes: personal willingness to embrace change in a dynamic working environmentGood personal organization and time management skills, capacity for continuous self-reflectionWillingness to travel, e.g. customer visits, on-sites, internal meetingsAbility to drive revenue and contribute significantly to revenue targetsMeetings industry technology experienceConfident product knowledge and experience of congress and meetingsExcellent oral and written communications skill and presentation abilitiesPrior experience in effectively developing and handling multiple projects/demandsCulturally sensitive and embraces diversityFluent in oral and written business English
