M&P Team Member - Forestry & Landscaping

Maintenance & Protection Team Member I \n

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains and protects assigned Greenville Water watersheds, right-of-ways, grounds and structures.\n

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n\nPerforms maintenance work as required, including but not limited to, landscaping grounds, clearing rights-of-way, maintaining grass and orchards, installing signs and painting property lines, removing vegetation from water, dead and diseased trees, animal carcasses, debris and trash from grounds\/highway ditches etc.\nPatrols assigned areas; enforces rules and regulations pertaining to the maintenance and use of properties.\nHauls rock, soil, debris, equipment, materials, etc., as needed to and from work sites.\nPerforms general building maintenance work as required, including routine plumbing, painting, carpentry work, etc.\nFights forest fires as required\nEnsures fire roads are maintained\nKnowledgeable in operation of boats, trucks, heavy construction equipment, backhoe, riding mower, bush hog, dump truck, tractor, etc. utilized in maintenance of the ROW and\/or watersheds.\nMaintains and performs minor repairs to assigned equipment.\nCleans water storage tanks\nMay be required to work rotating weekends and nights\nKnowledgeable in operation of boats, trucks, heavy construction equipment, backhoe, riding mower, bush hog, dump truck, tractor, etc. utilized in maintenance of the ROW and\/or watersheds.\n\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \n

A High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by preferably five (5) years of experience in watershed maintenance and protection, equipment operations, grounds keeping, general maintenance or related field, is required; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. \n

Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications. Must obtain firefighting training and introduction to wild land fire behavior certificates within 180 days. Must be able to operate general landscaping equipment.\n
