The Divisions of Rheumatology and Pulmonary Medicine at Johns Hopkins University are seeking a highly motivated faculty member specializing in sarcoidosis and scleroderma to join our team. The candidate will play a critical role in advancing clinical care, driving innovative research, and contributing to the division's growth as a center of excellence in these diseases. + Key responsibilities: + Clinical care: + Provide specialized care for patients with sarcoidosis, helping address the high demand and long wait times for new and follow-up appointments. + Collaborate with the Director of the Sarcoidosis Center and the scleroderma team to deliver exceptional care to ~2000 sarcoidosis patients and a growing scleroderma population. + Lead efforts to reduce clinical wait times and improve access to care for sarcoidosis and scleroderma patients. + Research and academic contributions: + Advance sarcoidosis research by focusing on glucocorticoid toxicity and early implementation of steroid-sparing therapies. + Leverage the NIH P30-funded Rheumatic Diseases Research Core Center, including the Precision Medicine Data Integration Core (PMAP), to support sarcoidosis research. + Collaborate with the Sarcoidosis Center leadership to launch sarcoidosis research initiatives on PMAP, accelerating data integration and personalized care strategies. + Conduct research in scleroderma with a focus on cardiopulmonary complications and health inequities in this population. + Lead and contribute to clinical trials and NIH-funded research projects in both sarcoidosis and scleroderma. + Develop tools to predict and measure glucocorticoid toxicity in sarcoidosis and test steroid-sparing therapies in high-risk patients. + Collaborating and leadership: + Partner with faculty in Rheumatology and Pulmonary Medicine to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in sarcoidosis and scleroderma research and care. + Engage with philanthropic initiatives, including endowed funds and current-use gifts, to support clinical and research activities. + Mentor trainees and fellows, fostering the next generation of clinical and research leaders in sarcoidosis and scleroderma - MD or equivalent with subspecialty training in Rheumatology or Pulmonary Medicine. - Demonstrated expertise in sarcoidosis and scleroderma clinical care and research. - Experience with clinical trials, NIH-funded research, or translational research projects is highly desirable. - Commitment to addressing health disparities and advancing care for underserved populations. - Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to work across disciplines to achieve shared goals. Salary: $80,000-$143,000 Additional Information Salary Range The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
