CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Data specialist, to implement and support the current processes of the GRP program.

 

The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

Specific duties:

Maintain, configure, update, and proactively optimize Genebanks systems to ensure high availability and reliability. Design and apply testing and validation procedures to ensure the reliability and functionality of implemented software systems. Develop and update reports and metrics using Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools. Provide support for the installation, configuration, and testing of label design and printing software, ensuring integration with existing systems. Provide first-level support:

○ Understand and define the required infrastructure for the operation of the technological ecosystem.

○ Identify application failures to report and/or resolve them.

○ Configure peripheral devices (printers connected to GGCE).

○ Provide training and technical support to the entire germplasm bank team in the use of the information system during operation.

Collaborate with other CGIAR Genebanks to implement the best practices in information management. Generate documentation related to practices, supports, and infrastructure of the technological ecosystem. Gather and present user requirements to the CGIAR focal group. Provide support for mobile applications developed in Android connected to GGCE. Meet the objectives determined by your management.
