M2C Program - Technical Lead

The M2C Program - Technical Lead will oversee the architecture, development, and end-to-end delivery of large-scale technology and billing implementations, with a focus on Customer Information System (CIS) transformations. This role requires expertise in complex technology rollouts, vendor management, and operational excellence within regulated industries. Gas and Electric Utilities billing experience and use of Oracle Utilities application suite are highly desirable, as this role focuses on programs that adhere to industry best practices, enhance customer experience, and meet regulatory requirements.

What Else You Get To Do 

Lead the overall technical direction of large-scale CIS and billing implementations, ensuring all technical solutions align with business goals and Alberta electric and gas regulatory requirements Provide strategic oversight to technical leads across workstreams, including developers, architects, integration specialists, and testing teams, to maintain alignment on project goals and milestones  Develop and enforce a cohesive architectural framework, guiding teams on best practices, system integration, and adherence to industry standards  Oversee the implementation of integration strategies across legacy and cloud-based environments, including API-driven architectures and microservices  Drive the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for large-scale technology and billing implementations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies, technical standards, and customer expectations  Oversee technical workstreams (e.g., integration, conversion, reporting) for program alignment and milestone achievement Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline constraints Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors to ensure adherence to project requirements, SLAs, and technical standards Guide and oversee architectural decisions across all technical workstreams to maintain a unified and scalable system design Validate and approve architectural deliverables, ensuring all components align with the broader enterprise architecture and meet long-term scalability and maintainability goals Ensure seamless data exchange between CIS, billing, and other applications by coordinating end-to-end integration testing Develop and enforce performance metrics for system reliability, incident resolution, and regulatory compliance  Act as a role model for technical excellence and operational discipline, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation. 

Who You Are:  

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred 7+ years in IT technical leadership with a focus on large-scale technology or billing implementations Hands-on experience in utilities billing systems or CIS replacements is highly preferred.  Experience in billing system replacement projects is required Proficient in system architecture design, cloud infrastructure, application integration, and DevOps tools  Strong knowledge of API design, microservices, data integration (ETL), and coding/scripting (e.g., Java, Python, SQL) Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams, drive vendor accountability, and influence senior stakeholders Excellent communication, able to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences in written and verbal format Experience with compliance and security requirements within regulated industries.
