M365 Solution Engineer

We are happy to discuss remote or hybrid working and welcome applications from across the UK. The role is predominantly home-based but may involve occasional travel to client sites or CGI offices. All applicants must be UK citizens and hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to Security Check (SC) level as a minimum.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As an M365 Engineer, you will work closely with a diverse range of clients, delivering projects that vary in scope and complexity. You will engage in high and low-level tasks, including shaping strategies, technical design, and hands-on implementation. Your expertise will be crucial in providing solutions that align with client requirements, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Your responsibilities will include architecting M365 solutions and creating high-level design (HLD) documents, supporting migrations from other M365 or on-premise environments. You will work with various methodologies and frameworks such as Agile Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, TOGAF, and RCDA to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

A key part of your role will be to build strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and balancing risk against reward and cost. You will be expected to identify opportunities for improvement and suggest follow-on work to enhance client systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of team members by sharing your expertise and mentoring others.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing M365 solutions, with a focus on SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Creating high-level design documents and supporting migrations from various environments.
• Engaging with clients to understand their needs and align solutions accordingly.
• Managing stakeholders at all levels and balancing risk, reward, and cost.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending follow-on work.
• Mentoring and supporting the development of team members through knowledge sharing.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

To excel in this role, you should have a strong working knowledge of the M365 portfolio, with specialist expertise in areas such as SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive. You should have experience across M365 solutions, creating high-level design documents, and supporting migrations from different environments.

Familiarity with various project and architecture methodologies such as Agile Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, TOGAF, and RCDA will be beneficial. Your ability to quickly develop working relationships and engage with clients effectively will be key to your success. Strong communication skills and the ability to empathise with clients, understanding their requirements, will help you in delivering the best possible solutions.

Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are also important attributes. You should be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, bringing fresh ideas based on past experiences, and mentoring team members to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.

Key qualifications include:

• Strong expertise in M365 solutions, particularly in SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive.
• Experience in architecting M365 solutions and supporting migrations.
• Familiarity with project and architecture methodologies such as Agile Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, TOGAF, and RCDA.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• A proactive approach to identifying improvements and mentoring team members.
