The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a team-oriented and compassionate part-time Medical Assistant to work in the Caldwell Chemo Infusion clinic! **Position Summary & Highlights** + This position will support physicians, APPs, and other staff with rooming, patient scheduling for infusion/clinic visits, and other clinical support duties at the Caldwell Cancer Institute. + The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute is proud to be the leading cancer program in Idaho and Eastern Oregon. These help provide seamless care for patients and families. + Saint Alphonsus also holds the region's largest clinical trials. **What You Will Do:** + You will work in a small clinic environment with nurses and physicians focused on providing compassionate patient care. + In addition to typical MA duties, you will take vitals, give injections, assist patients with moving within the clinic, and set up for procedures. + You will also schedule patients for infusion and clinic visits and complete related paperwork, coordinate with pre-auth and dosimetry staff to schedule procedures, and provide comfort to patients who come for treatment. + You will also work on the computer including items in the work queue, scheduling new patients, scheduling patients for procedures, related appointments, and follow up visits and complete related paperwork. + An ideal candidate will be outgoing, compassionate, committed to the position longer-term, and patient with orientation and training for the role. + You will be comfortable with computers and related technology given the scheduling system and charting. Experience with Epic is a plus. + You will also desire being part of a strong team and enjoy connecting with patients and developing relationships with them. **Work Schedule:** + 20 hours/week, 2 - 10-hour days, Tuesdays and Fridays, around the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm. + This position will train with our schedulers in our Nampa infusion room as there is limited space in Caldwell infusion to train at the nurse’s station. This will be about 7-8 weeks of training in Nampa. + Clinic start and end time can vary based on providers schedule. + This position will NOT work weekends or major holidays. **Orientation and Training** **:** + Orientation and training will require additional hours the first two weeks. + It will be at least 2-3 full days each week in the first two weeks, plus self-paced e-learning modules you will be required to complete during that time. + Includes General Orientation, Epic Training, and Clinical Regulatory Training. **Locations** **:** + Caldwell Clinic: 3123 Medical Dr. Ste B, Caldwell,ID83605 + Nampa Infusion Clinic: 4400 E Flamingo Ave., Ste. 130, Nampa,ID83687 **Learn more about the Cancer Institute** **:** https://www.saintalphonsus.org/specialty/cancer-care/ **Minimum Qualifications** **:** + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: + American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) + American Medical Technologists (RMA) + National Healthcare Association (CCMA) + National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) + National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) + New Graduates: Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externshipis required even with MA certification. + Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. + Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. + *Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
