Become a full-time Field Sales Representative!   

Schedule: Monday to Friday 

Pay: $30/hr + Monthly Incentive Opportunity

What are my responsibilities? 

Train, advocate, and promote our client’s building materials brand at retailers in assigned territory 

Travel within a territory to visit multiple stores daily 

Drive sales and product awareness through training  

Manage a territory of stores independently with minimal oversight 

Showcase your building materials know-how and communication skills 

Develop professional relationships with store management and associates  

Schedule and facilitate sales and product training with store associates and managers 

Effectively assess and communicate on-site needs such as marketing material, promotional collateral, etc. 

Educate customers and Pro Desk associates while making specific product recommendations that apply to their projects 

Accurately document and report sales, schedules, activities, and best practices 

Collect customer feedback and provide insight and recommendations 

Set and maintain brand merchandising in retail locations and ensure all brand standards are followed 

How is Success Measured In this role? 

Meet established metrics 

Visit multiple store locations daily  

Schedule store visits two weeks in advance 

Execute sales activities inside each location during all visits 

Ability to establish, maintain, and influence business relationships  

Record and maintain appropriate documentation for each visit

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation of products, and interpersonal skills 

Ability to engage in a selling process that overcomes objections and connects with customer needs 

Strong analytical skills and customer service orientation 

Strong multi-tasking skills, time management, and attention to detail 

Must have and maintain reliable transportation and state-required minimum liability automobile insurance coverage 

Weekend availability  

1 year retail experience. Home improvement is a plus  

1 year of training experience is a plus 

Manager, assistant manager, and key holder experience a plus 

Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and auto insurance 

Job Description:

Drive brand market share through daily direct and indirect sales activities, engaging directly with customers and retail channel partners 

Develop a partnership with retail store management to foster sales-driving activities with associates 

Schedule and facilitate sales and product training with front-line store associates and managers 

Drive sales productivity through high-quality sales interactions with customers 

Build and maintain industry vertical affiliate distribution relationships 

Effectively assess and communicate on-site needs such as marketing material, promotional collateral, etc. 

Educate customers while making product recommendations 

Meet or exceed personal sales productivity goals and key metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis 

Accurately document and report sales, schedules, activities, and best practices 

Collect customer feedback and provide sales/marketing channel insight and recommendations 

Set and maintain brand merchandising in retail locations and ensure all brand standards are followed 

Performance Measurements: 

Meet or exceed monthly sales goals 

Meet or exceed weekly in-store time goals 

Visit multiple store locations on a daily and weekly basis 

Effectively schedule store visits two weeks or more in advance 

Effectively execute sales activities inside each location during all visits 

Effectively demonstrate an ongoing ability to establish, maintain, and influence business relationships through increased shelf space, product placement, and consistent productivity 

Record and maintain appropriate documentation for each visit 

Qualifications: 

High school diploma or GED equivalent required 

12+ months of previous retail selling experience in building materials or related experience 

12+ months of successful training experience, preferably within direct marketing/retail sales 

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills 

Ability to stage a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and connects with customer needs 

Strong analytical skills and customer service orientation 

Strong multi-tasking skills, time management, and attention to detail 

Ability to perform independently in an unstructured work environment 

Must have and maintain reliable transportation and state-required minimum liability automobile insurance coverage
