What You'll Do Join our dynamic team as a Engineer specializing in AI & Machine Learning, where you'll contribute to pioneering projects in computer vision and natural language processing under the document intelligence space. This role is crucial for automating workflows and enhancing the efficiency of partner teams at Avalara. You'll be instrumental in building, deploying, and maintaining ML models that drive our automated solutions forward, ensuring they operate at peak performance. Job Duties We are looking for engineers who can think quick and have a background in implementation. Experience with one or more of these will be a bonus, Classification systems, Sentiment analysis, NLP and Entity extraction. Computer Vision, OCR, content extraction from images, PDF, HTML Experience with pytorch or TensorFlow Experience with LLMs - like Claude, GPT, BARD 1.Develop and program integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze, and leverage data in product and systems applications in both structured and unstructured environments. 2.Apply knowledge of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory, and machine learning using code for tool building, statistical analysis, and modelling, using both general purpose software and statistical languages. 3.Develop and communicate descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive insights/algorithms. 4.Use machine learning and statistical modelling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis, Natural Language Processing, and others to develop and evaluate algorithms that improve product/system performance, quality, data management, and accuracy. 5.Use current programming languages (e.g., Python)) and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code. 6.Complete programming, implement efficiencies, perform testing, and debugging. 7.Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. 8.Apply deep learning technologies to enable computers to visualize, learn, and respond to complex situations. 9.Adapt machine learning to areas such artificial intelligence, Generative AI, Image Processing, and other technologies that allow users to have an interactive experience. 10. Work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems, and cloud-based modelling environments.
