You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, energy experts, and software engineers, to build scalable and efficient AI-driven solutions.
**How you will make 10x impact:**
+ Explore, apply, and innovate state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems on the electric grid
+ Explore and de-risk novel technologies to extract data from unlikely sources
+ Lead the design and implementation of ML data platforms and service frameworks
+ Design and implement robust, automated, production-level software using horizontally scalable components
+ Work effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and domain experts
+ Provide direction and focus in areas of high ambiguity
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models, with a focus on techniques including large language models (LLMs), agentic applications, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
+ Explore, apply, and innovate state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems on the electric grid
+ Explore and de-risk novel technologies to extract data from unlikely sources
+ Lead the development of end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, and deployment.
+ Collaborate with teams across engineering, data science, and energy domains to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
+ Conduct performance tuning, model validation, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality model outcomes.
+ Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in machine learning, recommending innovative approaches to address key challenges.
**What you should have:**
+ Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
+ 5-8 years of experience in machine learning, with a proven track record of developing production-level ML models, or a PhD degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of industry experience
+ 3+ years of experience with Python or Golang, including working with relevant machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
+ Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing, and deep learning.
**It'd be great if you had these:**
+ Experience with building data pipelines (e.g. Beam, Dataflow, Flink, Hadoop, Spark)
+ Experience in ML modeling using TensorFlow, Pytorch or Jax/Flax
+ Consistent track record of delivering high quality solutions to large, complex software problems
+ Experience working in a start-up like environment
+ Prior Experience working with energy-related data and understanding of clean energy systems (renewable energy, smart grids, etc.) is a nice-to-have but not required
+ Experience working in a start-up like environment
