WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE 

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will:

Research, design, and develop innovative machine learning algorithms and models.Implement and deploy machine learning models into production environments.Conduct rigorous experimentation and evaluation of model performance.Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., data engineers, data scientists, product managers) to define and refine project scope and objectives.Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and deep learning research.Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for machine learning development and deployment.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS

18 Years of age or older with a completed High School Diploma or GED requiredEmployment for this position is onsite in Austin onlyAble to rotate shifts as needed as well as adhere to shift schedules and maintain acceptable attendance.Graduate in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in real-world applications.Solid understanding of statistical and machine learning concepts, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.A strong passion for solving complex problems and a desire to learn and grow.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Programming Proficiency:

Languages: Python is the dominant language in the field, with libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn being essential.Software Engineering Principles: Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code is crucial. Understanding version control (Git), testing methodologies, and software design patterns are vital.

2. Mathematical and Statistical Foundations:

Linear Algebra: A strong grasp of vectors, matrices, and linear transformations is fundamental.Calculus: Understanding derivatives, gradients, and optimization algorithms is essential for training machine learning models.Probability and Statistics: Concepts like distributions, hypothesis testing, and Bayesian inference are crucial for data analysis and model evaluation.

3. Machine Learning Algorithms:

Supervised Learning: Regression, classification (e.g., logistic regression, support vector machines, decision trees, random forests).Unsupervised Learning: Clustering (e.g., k-means, DBSCAN), dimensionality reduction (e.g., PCA).Deep Learning: Neural networks, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), transformers.

4. Data Engineering Skills:

Data Wrangling: Cleaning, transforming, and preparing data for analysis (e.g., handling missing values, feature engineering).Data Pipelines: Building and maintaining efficient data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and model training.Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.

5. Model Deployment and Monitoring:

Cloud Platforms: Deploying models as APIs or services on cloud platforms.Model Monitoring: Tracking model performance over time, detecting and addressing issues like concept drift and data bias.MLOps: Implementing best practices for managing the entire machine learning lifecycle.

6. Communication and Collaboration:

Effective Communication: Clearly explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders.
