Ford's AI Advancement Center (AIAC) is leading the way in developing, deploying, and scaling AI solutions across the company, as well as to educate
and inform the company on the capabilities and limitations of AI. To meet our goal of being the world's most trusted company, the AIAC is looking for a talented individual to join our team as a machine learning policy technical expert, providing insight and guidance to our office of the general counsel, policy office, and the entire Ford company. This role will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on the legal and ethics policy implications of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
What you'll do...
We are looking for someone who is interested in the intersection of technology, law, and policy, and who is excited to help responsibly advance the field of machine learning. Strong communication skills are a must, as the position will involve be working with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in all aspects of the machine learning production lifecycle and may be asked to work on other technical or non-technical projects in addition to their policy work, depending on their skills and experience. No prior experience in law and policy is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is a must.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on the legal and ethics implications of machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Work with the office of the general counsel and the policy office to ensure that Ford's AI projects are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Help design and implement Ford's approach to AI ethics and responsible AI
- Communicate with technical and non-technical business partners across the company to ensure that AI projects are being developed responsibly
- Apply AI and machine learning technology to solve complex, real-world problems
- Review proposed and pending legislation and provide feedback
- Regularly review and update internal AI ethics policies and training materials
You'll have...
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, research or related field
3+ years of professional experience with Data Science
3+ years of exposure to building, deploying, and using machine learning models
Even better, you may have...
- Doctorate in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, research or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science/ML experience
- OR master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or related field AND 3+ year(s) data-science/ML experience
- OR bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or related field AND 5+ year(s) data-science/ML experience
-5+ years of professional experience with Data Science
-5+ years of exposure to building, deploying, and using machine learning models
- Prior work as a science or technical communicator
- Experience with legal compliance in the technology sector
- Experience with cloud-based software/ML deployments and best practices
- Demonstrated contributions and expertise in one or more of the following areas of machine learning: Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Generative AI, Physics-informed Neural Networks
- Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
- Interest in the intersection of technology, law, and policy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Experience with the complete machine learning/software lifecycle
