Job Description SummaryPerforms routine set up, operation, minor routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of moderately complex/automated manufacturing equipment. Controls and adjusts machine settings. Inspects in-process parts to ensure consistent quality and removes defective product, packaging, and component material. Assists with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. May monitor quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves basic issues associated with the machine performance and/or product quality.

Job Summary:
Operates one or more machines to perform various functions such as cutting, bending, milling, stamping, grinding, polishing, and buffing.  Works at different production stations according to production needs.  Performs basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.  Assists in training new employees and may assist in conducting performance evaluations of existing employees.  Provides feedback to supervisors and managers regarding problems, discrepancies, and continuous improvement efforts/ideas.  Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures (e.g., good manufacturing practices, safety regulations).  May be responsible for counting product produced by others.  Participates in team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement goals.  Responds to customer complaints and ensures resolution.  

Key Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of routine tasks 

Follows standard operating procedures 

Provides training to other less experienced operators 

Assists in troubleshooting production equipment 

Performs set-up and change over of equipment 

Communicates regularly with supervisor and team members 

Adheres to all safety requirements 

Maintains appropriate documentation for area 

Works within acceptable quality standards and performs quality checks as required 

Resolves basic personnel issues 

Maintains clean and organized work area


Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in medical device industry preferred but not required 

Basic knowledge of FDA regulations (GMP) 

Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on regular basis 

Demonstrated problem solving skills 

Ability to read measuring instruments 

Basic computer skills 

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination 

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly 

Availability to work overtime as needed 

Healthcare experience including exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1)
