Job DescriptionAssist with mixing, processing, and manufacturing chemicals. Unload chemicals from tanker trucks and rail cars by hooking up hoses and pumping chemicals from storage tanks. Fill mixing tanks with various chemicals by routing base chemicals through piping systems from storage tanks to mixing tanks. Create new chemicals by mixing chemicals in mixing tanks. Transport, route, and mix chemicals using a computer system. Monitor the transportation, routing, and mixing of chemicals. Manually add chemicals to mixing tanks when needed. Test batch samples for quality. A large portion of the job involves operating and monitoring automated production systems using computers. You will wear a respirator when working in close proximity to chemicals, typically for 10-30 minutes at a time, depending on the job duty or project.Approximately 20%-30% of the shift will require wearing a respirator. My regular scheduled shift is 2pm-10pm, Monday - Friday. During busy periods, you may work a 12-hour shift ending at 2am (2pm-2am shift). Training will be conducted during regular hours from 6am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Work Environment

This industrial manufacturer, processor, and applicator of various types of chemicals operates in both a control room and a more industrial setting. Most of the work will be conducted in the control room, which has an office-like environment where you will use computers to control the flow of chemicals through piping systems and mixing tanks. On occasion, you will work on the floor in a more industrial environment, where wearing a respirator may be necessary when in close proximity to chemicals.
