**Aerotek is hiring for Machine Operators in Springfield, IL!** **Benefits:** + weekly Pay + Medical, Dental, and vision insurance + paid time off + 401k opportunities **Job Description** We are seeking a Machinist Trainee who will be taught how to set up and operate CNC machines, manual mills, and manual lathes to produce precision parts in a timely manner. You will work closely with a trainer, learning step by step how to handle the machinery and produce high-quality parts. **Responsibilities** + Position and fasten workpieces. + Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material onto machines. + Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used. + Machine parts to specifications. + Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools. + Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and gauges. + Read and understand gauging sheets. + Read and interpret blueprints and listen to machines and tooling to ensure they are running properly. + Go through the onboarding system (5S program, hazard assessment, log in and out of jobs, safety, data sheet system). + Practice proactive safe lifting and learn how to use the hoist. + Take detailed notes to refer back to them. **Essential Skills** + Mathematical skills, including converting fractions to decimals. + Mechanical aptitude. + Trainability and a good attitude. + Experience with machine operation. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in mechanical work, such as working on automobiles or farm equipment. + Military or farm experience. + Associates degree in a related field. + Ability to learn and adapt quickly. **Why Work Here?** This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to learn the machining trade.
