**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** We have 2nd shift production openings in a plant that manufactures concrete blocks. Candidates will need to train on 1st shift for up to 3 or 4 weeks before moving to 2nd shift. Typical hours for 2nd shift are Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, with potential adjustments based on business needs. **Responsibilities** + Observe blocks as they come down the conveyor line and check for quality issues such as cracks or missing chunks. + Remove defective blocks from the line and place them in a bin for recycling. + Reposition blocks on the line to ensure proper stacking on the skid. + Sweep up excess aggregate and other materials that fall off the line. + Maintain a clean work area. + Assist the operator by getting tools and supplies if there are issues with the production line. + Hand unload and stack blocks if necessary. + Develop mechanical skills to eventually take on a machine operator role, which includes adjusting the machine as needed. **Essential Skills** + Ability to lift blocks weighing up to 50 pounds. + Ability to read a tape measure. + General production experience. + Mechanical aptitude. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + No certifications required. + Attention to detail. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. + Preferred: At least one year of production or heavy manufacturing experience and good job stability. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a great opportunity for temporary to permanent hire.
