Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator 2 to operate numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate aerospace parts per engineering specifications. This role is crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality complex parts through cost-effective manufacturing techniques.

ResponsibilitiesStart and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and inform lead person of discrepancies.Perform work instructions with the exception of setup procedures.Thoroughly inspect first part run.Meet job standard times with minimal supervision.Recognize production problems and inform supervisor.Increase understanding of basic machine language, including M-codes and G-codes.Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools.Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.Perform miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed when supervisor is unavailable for training.Follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsGood attitude towards work and punctuality.Proper use of basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, indicators, etc.).Strong attention to detail.Good verbal and written communication skills.Mechanical inclination with good manual dexterity.Experience in machine operation, machining, or vocational training in a machine shop.Basic computer skills (opening/closing files using Windows).Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong skills and aptitude in math.Ability to perform basic functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems.One year of on-the-job experience.Completion of an aptitude test during the interview process.Preferred completion of vocational or college training in a machine shop (Certificate of Completion of basic machining course).Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The role is based in an aerospace machine shop. Available shifts are Monday to Thursday from 4:30 pm to 3:00 am, or Friday to Sunday from 4:30 am to 5:30 pm. The work environment involves operating machinery and using various tools and equipment. Safety guidelines and procedures must be followed at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00
