Machine Operator

Our client in Leominster, MA, is seeking a skilled Machine Cabling Operator to join their team. The role involves operating and monitoring cabling machines in a continuous production environment to ensure the efficient processing of wire and cable products. The ideal candidate will follow detailed production specifications, adhere to established procedures, and uphold safety standards to achieve daily operational targets. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality throughout the production process are essential. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The candidate would train on the 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM) during training and then when they are on their own it would be 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The Day-to-Day:

Reads Shop Order and Manufacturing Specification to determine machine set-up, materials required, and quantity to run.Matches up incoming component lengths to maximize output.Sets up machines to produce products conforming to specification requirements.Loads pay-off and take-up reels. Select closing die. Thread components through the lay plate and closing die and onto the take-up reel.Verifies raw materials to manufacturing specifications.Inspects incoming components to manufacturing specifications.Adjusts lay control for proper lay length. Set up taping heads as required, helical or longitudinal.Inspects start-up sample for correct color sequence, overall diameter, length of lay, tape overlap, and any visual defects.Records all completed work on tally sheets and Daily Machine Report.Attaches production tag to conforming material.Attaches stop tag to non-conforming material.Performs daily maintenance checks of hoists. May run multiple machines.Performs all other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.Adequate verbal and written communication skills.Basic math skills.Must be able to operate machinery in compliance with safety standards.

Pay Rate/Shifts:

$18.00 to $20.00Monday to Friday3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
