Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize a tape measure to properly measure material, read micrometers and calipers, and operate machines to aid in the production of hot rolled carbon steel and plate burning. You will be responsible for maintaining production speed and ensuring quality checks on products to ensure they are cut to specification. Additionally, you will prepare, move, clean, and cut steel, and must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently.

Work Environment

Manufacturing setting with large ceilings and open space. Safety is a top priority. The environment can be hot in the summers and cold in the winters, but heat lamps provide a comfortable temperature during the winter. Candidates are required to wear steel toe boots, hard hats, and safety glasses at all times. The company conducts random drug tests for all employees. Work hours are 2nd shift (3:15 PM - 11:45 PM) with training on 1st shift (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
