Machine Operator
We are seeking a skilled and reliable **Laminator & Winding Machine Operator** to join our team in the production of high-quality fiberglass elements and components. This dual-role position involves working with fiberglass materials to create both flat and round elements, ensuring the lamination and winding processes meet high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in fiberglass production, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Fiberglass Laminations (Laminator):** 2. Prepare surfaces for lamination by sanding and grinding using manual tools. 3. Mix resins, catalysts, and accelerators according to department instructions and environmental conditions. 4. Apply resin and glass fiber in required sequencing to build fiberglass elements like flanges and non-standard parts. 5. Inspect laminates to ensure defect-free, high-quality standards are met before each phase of the process. 6. Roll out fiberglass carefully to avoid defects such as air bubbles. 7. Maintain responsibility for your work to meet department quality standards. 8. Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working condition. 9. **Filament Winding (Winding Machine Operator):** 10. Set up and operate winding machines to produce fiberglass round elements, such as pipes and ducts. 11. Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed to meet production targets. 12. Ensure proper application of resin and glass fiber, maintaining the quality of the final product. 13. Inspect the finished product to confirm it meets high-quality standards. 14. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. 15. Maintain tools and machinery in excellent working order, reporting any issues to supervisors. 16. **Quality Control & Documentation:** 17. Perform inspections on both laminated and wound products to ensure they meet required quality standards. 18. Record and report defects or inconsistencies, following company protocols. 19. Complete necessary documentation and logs, maintaining accurate records of machine operations, maintenance, and production output. 20. **Safety and Compliance:** 21. Follow team leader directions for coordinating tasks and people to meet production goals. 22. Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies. 23. Ensure the workspace is clean and free of hazards. 24. Understand the handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals, as well as emergency procedures. 25. **Other Responsibilities:** 26. Adapt to changes in production operations. 27. Be available to work overtime when required to meet production demands. **Requirements:** + Previous experience as a Laminator, Winding Machine Operator, or in a similar FRP production role. + Knowledge of laminate-related materials, methods, and practices. + Experience in handling and mixing resins, catalysts, and accelerators. + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Ability to follow technical documents, blueprints, and instructions. + Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork. + Ability to work independently and meet department goals. + Not allergic to fiberglass materials or chemicals. + Flexibility to work overtime if necessary. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Previous experience with fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) materials. + Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to machine operation. + Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints. **Why Join Us?** + Be part of a dynamic, safety-conscious team in a growing industry. + Competitive compensation and benefits package. + Opportunities for career advancement and skill development. + A collaborative and inclusive work environment. **Pay Details:** $23.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
