This role is a permanent full-time position working Monday-Friday.

 

What you will do as a Loader Operator:

 

Load and unload logs as directed, ensuring production expectations are met. Remove logs from the kick-out bin daily with the knuckle-boom loader. Ensure painted and oversized logs are taken to the metal yard, while others are placed back on the log deck. Perform daily cleanup duties around the metal log field and kick out the bin. Fill in at the Scalehouse as needed, handling various scale functions and log loading/unloading. Perform or assist with weekly preventative maintenance on machinery and complete daily check sheets. Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and promoting safe work practices.

Experience and skills that will help you stand out:

 

3-5 years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment operating heavy-duty equipment. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Capable of sitting and/or standing for the entire shift (8-12 hours) and climbing in and out of machinery without assistance. Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, with exposure to dust, vibration, and high noise levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A high degree of urgency and attention to detail. Desire to learn, grow, and succeed. Knowledge of the wood manufacturing industry and machine operator/maintenance experience are considered an asset.
