Machine Operator Assistant
Job Title: Machine Assistant
Job Description

As a Machine Assistant, you will be responsible for setting up machines, rolling heads, overwrapped units, and shrink tunnels according to product specifications. You will mount rolls of material on machine supports, thread materials through rolling head units, and ensure smooth operation by observing the flow of material. You will move levers to start, stop, and regulate the speed of the machine, aligning it with the rolling head to maximize profitability. Additionally, you will check for defects in the customer product, perform routine maintenance, complete paperwork accurately, and adhere to safety guidelines.

ResponsibilitiesSet up machine, rolling head, overwrapped unit, and shrink tunnel according to product specifications.Mount roll of material on machine supports and thread material over tension bar and through rolling head unit.Start machine and observe flow of material to detect irregular winding.Move levers to start, stop, and regulate speed of machine and to align with rolling head and maximize profitability.Observe customer product being converted while checking for any defects (print quality, registration, etc.).Perform routine maintenance on the machine.Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.Adhere to all safety guidelines and machine operating procedures.Other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting.Printing experience, preferably with flexographic or printing press.Ability to detect defects and ensure print quality.Adherence to safety guidelines and operating procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with flexographic printing or print operations preferred.Willingness to train on a different shift if necessary.Ability to work all three shifts as required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in an older, but clean and well-lit building. The machines are smaller compared to most converting companies, but we have experienced trainers on site to assist you.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00
