Machine Operator I
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
($20.00-$23.00) per hour, plus shift differential
(12hrs) Day Shift or (12hrs) Night Shift
To enhance the ABM department’s overall performance by supporting problem-solving, line set up and continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and scrap reduction. As the Machine Operator, I must be able to level up within our TWI program within 6 months of hire.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform essential duties as an 'Operator 1 including the ability to visually inspect, remove, and pack bags systematically into boxes. Supply area with needed product, equipment, fitments, and other supplies to ensure no down time on the Automated Bag Making machines. Requisition materials from the warehouse. Understand and perform appropriate Quality Control Plan as required. Issue and return materials, record production, print labels, and perform all other Virtual Client transactions in BaaN inventory system, as needed by the ABM department such as ops complete and lot look up. Setup inspection areas as needed. Troubleshoot spout and tap feed issues to restart machine. Move materials from work site to staging area after inspection has been completed. Follow all 5S expectations to ensure a clean and safe floor. The concept of 5S is to maintain a clean working area, remove all unnecessary items, and keep all necessary items in their place to ensure a safe and organized working area. Assist in the bailing areas by safely banding bails. Operate motorized lift trucks, manual, electric pallet jacks and cranes to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Perform the following virtual client transactions: operations complete, make carton labels, reprint labels, issue/return materials, lot lookup and what is a production correction and posting to existing lots. Follow escalation process when there is downtime and/or scrap. Make boxes, mini bins, and other corrugated product. Utilize utility related equipment such as packaging scales, tape machines and bin handling conveyor system. Use lean tools such as 5 Why/Fish Bones to troubleshoot. Utilize iPads or computers to track downtime/ scrap material. Know and understand how to safely perform roll changes and understand web diagrams. Lift and stack boxes on pallets according to specifications. Understand and perform appropriate belt advancement of ABM material and web set up.. Train employees in all Operator 1 - Entry and Intermediate essential duties. Responsible for overseeing food safety. Perform hole punch/perforation/slitter blade changing. Know and understand how to safely Change blankets and rubber pads
